.the secret garden.

from time to time i get the itch for a little personal project….you know, something that just is a bit out of my usual.  something that’s inspiring.  soothing.  and generally beautiful.  here’s a sample of what i’ve been doing in all my free time (insert a little sarcasm).  🙂

in downtown san luis obispo, there’s a quite little alley with a magical little shop called The Secret Garden–an organic herb shop.

it’s filled with serene clusters of herbs and succulents, exotic (at least i think they’re exotic!) herbs that you may have never even heard of, and fragrant custom blends of teas, chais and spices.

i’m going to empty out my cupboard of stale old spices and fill it with real cumin, thyme and cinnamon.  oh, and a few tea blends for my little monkeys, too!

if you’re downtown, you’ve got to peak into the Secret Garden…the address is 1129 (patio) Garden Street.

.upside down.

sometimes life does not make any sense at all…unfair.  cruel.  completely upside down.  i shot this image on such a high yesterday…but today it’s flipped upside down.  my cousins brian and aneek lost their baby last night…at 37 weeks.  hearts are breaking…

.malibu wedding.

okay…i finally have a blog post put together for this FABULOUS malibu wedding!  rita was such a gorgeous bride & ron a GQ fashion statement with the coolest shoes EVER!   and the venue, well it was magical:  the Inn of the Seventh Ray in Malibu canyon.  seriously, if you’re ever in southern cal, you’ve got to check this place out for a romantic dinner…you might even catch a fox or two frolicking near the stream below!  shot with my darling Jen, we had a blast hanging out with R&R and capturing their playful personalities…and all the amazing details of their wedding.  take a peak:

.men in trees.

look at who i discovered the other day just outside my window!?!  this tree is SO big and has alot of history. most recently it housed a VERY large colony of bees. (thankfully they have packed up and moved away).  before that it supported a treehouse for the (creepy) boys who once rented the house.  and before that it…well, i would just be guessing.  anyways, now this tree with it’s dreamy foliage has a new occupant! meet, the man in the tree…he looks like something straight out of a fantasy!!!!  and he’s hiding!  oh the mystery!!!     🙂
