They’re plump, They’re Sweet… | California Children’s Photographer

Look at these adorable little creatures!  Do they not look so yummy?!?  This is such a fun, if not messy, activity for a rainy day.  The idea was inspired by a vintage how-to by McCalls, but of course, I improvised and worked with what candy we had in the candy jar.  🙂

Don’t worry, these animals are still ‘living’ and I pinky-swear they will not be devoured.  The rest of the marshmallows were not so lucky, though….

minted holiday cards | children’s photographer san luis obispo, ca

Looking to stun your family and friends with the most amazing card this Christmas?  I like to think of my self as a paper connoisseur…(really, i am a bit ‘snobby’ about cardstock)…and am so in love with these cards from Minted.  The printing is gorgeous.  The colors are spot on.  The designs are nothing short of gorgeous.  And they just FEEL so lovely in your hands!  Check out my little friend ‘O’ on the design of one of my favorites…yes, you’ll see quite a few of her smiles as you browse through the Holiday Photo Card selections HERE.

Don’t be scared, these cards are not over-priced.   And, order this weekend for FREE SHIPPING!

And, as the questions are pouring in about  cards  right now, I thought I would just share my personal take on what makes for a great card:

1.  QUALITY:  Thick cardstock, great printing.  Ala Minted.

2.  IMAGE SIZE:  People want to see the picture…not just the design.  Personally, i love full-bleed images as opposed to tiny boxed-in pictures.

3.  DESIGN:  The colors in the design (logo, font, etc.)  should coordinate with the colors in the picture.  Nothing makes a card more busy than mis-matched graphics!  🙂

and it came to pass… | california children’s photographer

and it came to pass that on the 26th day in the month of september following the first day of fall that dozens of children flocked to a little historic ranch in cayucos.  there they played.  there they ate (amy bakes cupcakes).  there they frolicked in the sun.  and little ole me, i sat in wonder (actually i never sat), and watched the beauty of the little personalities that surrounded me.

thank you EVERYONE who came out to make the Fall Mini Session event such a wild success!  it was an honor to share the day with you…and  introduce you to my friends from Jack’s Helping Hand.  as exhausted as i was at the end of the day (the 104 degree day) i was so sad to have it end!

here is the first little peek for my sweet friends!
